Day 1 Studios has boasted that its forthcoming horror FPS F.E.A.R 3 will surpass the likes of Dead Space and Silent Hill to become the scariest videogame ever conceived.
Quizzed by the folks at CVG as to whether or not the game could rival EA and Konami’s horror outings in terms of spooking the player , Day 1’s Parker Hamilton commented, “Yes. We indeed do believe F.E.A.R. 3 will continue carrying on the franchise’s tradition of scaring the pants off players in unsettling atmospheres and through unpredictable events.”
"Whether playing co-operatively with a friend or alone in the dark by themselves, the generative system will keep the players on the edge of their seats."
While it’s too early to tell for sure, the signs are at least promising, with the creators having snapped up legendary horror movie director John Carpenter for the project’s story duties, alongside Steve Niles of 30 Days of Night fame.
F.E.A.R 3 is due out on PS3, PC and 360 later this year.
