Speaking during an interview with GamingBolt, Codemasters has confirmed details on the F1 2016 PS4 resolution and frame rate, stating the racing sequel will run at a silky smooth 1080p/60fps.
By comparison, the Xbox One release will also run at the same frame rate, although in terms of resolution the it fails to match the PS4 edition at 900p. This probably isn’t surprising, considering many games in the past have clocked in at a higher resolution on Sony’s current-geneation console.
“We’ll be running 60fps on both platforms, 1080p on PS4 and 900p on Xbox One,” said Codemasters.
F1 2016 release date set for mid-August on PS4
Developed by Codemasters Birmingham, F1 2016 is scheduled for release on PS4, PC, and Xbox One on August 19, 2016.
The racing title features a number of improvements over its predecessor, including a revamped career mode containing ten full Formula One seasons—double that of older titles. In addition, F1 2016 includes 21 circuits from this year’s season, plus all 11 teams and 22 drivers.
Elsewhere, gamers will be able to select what time of day they wish to race, as well as customise their own helmets in career mode. The Safety Car also makes a return in revised form, while the game’s online lobbies has been fleshed out to accommodate 22 car grids.
