Far Cry 6 Includes Third-Person Gameplay, Endgame To Offer ‘Something Different’

Ubisoft has confirmed that Far Cry 6 will offer players the option of a third-person perspective at specific areas in the game, as well as teasing the game’s endgame content.

Speaking with GameSpot, Navid Khavari, the game’s narrative director, explained the team found positive results when trying out a third-person option for cinematics.

In cinematics, [third-person] is something the team tried early on, and it felt surprisingly seamless. It instantly felt like there was more of a connection to Dani’s journey in the world, more of a connection to this epic story in Yara.

The third-person viewpoint will allow players to enjoy their character customisations in more detail, and you’ll be abel to swap viewpoints in guerilla camps and various situations during combat. It also comes into play during the use of a Supremo backpack.

In the Supremo backpack moments during gameplay, the third-person transition is intended so players can see all of the backpack’s effects, and better feel its impact in action.

Elsewhere, lead game designer David Grivel revealed during an interview with JoRapter that players will find “something else” waiting for them after completing the campaign. More details on the Far Cry 6 Endgame content will be revealed soon, presumably during Ubisoft Forward this weekend.

Far Cry 6 is scheduled for release on PS5, PS4, PC, Xbox Series X/S and Xbox One on October 7, 2021. Unlike previous entires, the game will not feature an Arcade Mode.
