The patch is designed to introduce extra content that wasn’t quite able to be squeezed into launch copies of Final Fantasy 15, including new recipes and cutscenes.
"The Crown Update is the result of some additional time for development since mastering the full game," commented Square Enix, "and provides a variety of updates, minor bug fixes and new features to greatly enhance the overall story and gameplay experience."

Final Fantasy 15 is scheduled for release on PS4 and Xbox One on November 29, 2016. The game was originally announced over a decade ago as the PS3-exclusive Final Fantasy Versus XIII, then part of the Fabula Nova Crystallis series that incorporates the world of Final Fantasy XIII.
However, the project was scrapped at around the 25 percent complete mark and revamped into Final Fantasy 15 for current-generation consoles. While the main premise remained the same as its original incarnation, a number of elements, such as the character of Stella, did not survive the transition.
