Final Fantasy 15 update improves PS4 Pro gameplay

Square Enix will roll out a new Final Fantasy 15 update for PS4 and Xbox One later this month, reports NovaCrystallis

One of the major attractions of the free update will be ‘additional features’ for PS4 Pro, including a mode that affords a ‘stable framerate and comfortable play.’ No doubt this is in response to the February’s PS4 Pro update, which was criticised by gamers for its poor performance under specific in-game conditions.

In addition to the above, the latest Final Fantasy 15 update will allow players to magnify the subtitles and menu screen size, plus timed quests will commence again alongside a ranking system. Players will be able to obtain extravagant weapons from these quests, while a new sticker has also been implemented for Regalia customisation.

The site reports that the free Final Fantasy 15 update will be released on April 27, 2017.

Final Fantasy 15 was released in November 2016 for PS4 and Xbox One following an arduous development cycle. The game was originally announced back at E3 2006 as the PS3-exclusive Final Fantasy Versus 13, although after sporadic updates on the game over the next few years, Square Enix ultimately decided to scrap the project at around the 25 percent complete mark and revamp it into the game we know today.

Despite Square Enix admitting earlier this year that Final Fantasy 15 was seen as the series’ last chance, the game was a commercial success, shipping over six million copies worldwide and becoming the fastest-selling entry in the venerable JRPG franchise to date.
