Final Fantasy Tactics Remake Rumors Gather Pace As Team Is ‘Incredibly Busy At The Moment’

Ichiro Hazama, the producer of Theatrhythm Final Bar Line, has ignited more rumours about a Final Fantasy Tactics Remake during a recent interview with Finaland.

When asked about the absence of a number of characters from the game, including those from Final Fantasy Tactics, Hazama-san offered hope that there may something in the pipeline for fans of the much-loved tactical RPG.

The Tactics team is incredibly busy at the moment, they have other things to do. They are heavily involved in another project at the moment so we just don’t have time to talk to them. I think that’s probably why more TACTICS characters haven’t been included in the game, we just need time to find out the details. I think that’s what is going on, at the very least with Tactics characters. I’m sure they will put them into the game, Fujiwara-san wants TACTICS, I know that.

It’s worth remembering that Final Fantasy Tactics was one of many projects outed in the Nvidia leak, and while there’s no confirmation a remake is in the works, the team are working on something as per Hazama’s response.

The original Final Fantasy Tactics was released for the PSOne in Japan back in 1997, and arrived in the US in January 1998. Unfortunately, the game was never released in PAL territories. Final Fantasy Tactics went on to sell around 2.4 million copies globally as of August 2011, and is considered one of the greatest video games ever made.
