Final Fantasy VII Rebirth is one of many games that will take advantage of the extra horsepower of PS5 Pro, and the good news is it looks miles better on the new console, according to Digital Foundry’s John Linneman.
Wow, yeah, FF7R looks a LOT better on PS5 Pro. Night and day difference. I actually put off playing it due to other things happening at the time of release but the Pro will finally push me to enjoy it. Image quality was just too awful on normal PS5.
If you’re wondering what all the fuss is about, Final Fantasy VII Rebirth was criticised upon release for its poor image quality on the standard PS5, as Linneman references above.

Sony pulled the wraps off the PS5 Pro earlier this week, with one of the major features of the console being its PS5 Pro Enhanced label, which adds new bells and whistles to supported titles, including FFVII Rebirth. Having said that, The Verge’s Tom Warren has noted that there will still be games that run at 30 FPS on the system, as the Enhanced label doesn’t guarantee 60 FPS.
The PS5 Pro will launch on November 7, 2024 priced at $699.99/£699.99.
