According to Niko Partners analyst Daniel Ahmad, Final Fantasy VII Rebirth is underperforming from a sales perspective, with the game apparently having sold about half as much as its predecessor in the same timeframe.
“Not to be that guy, but Rebirth is underperforming sales-wise. It’s selling about half of what Remake sold in the same timeframe and looks like it’ll have a weaker tail (prior to any PS+-like release).
When asked about a source for his findings, Ahmad replied he gathered data from “equities research reports, who are getting the data from the usual trackers.:

Final Fantasy VII Rebirth was released on February 29, 2024 for PS5, and you can read our full review here. Square Enix recently released a patch to fix an issue obtaining the Platinum Trophy for the game, and has indicated that Final Fantasy VII Remake Part 3 will arrive in 2027.
