Final Fantasy VII Rebirth Writer Calls For Fans To Stop Messaging With Demands To Kill Off Certain Characters

Kazushige Nojima, the scenario writer on Final Fantasy VII Rebirth, has taken to Twitter to call for fans to stop messaging him with demands about killing off certain characters in the upcoming RPG sequel.

Every character is written with love. You’re free to have any opinions or thoughts, but please stop sending me comments like I should delete that character or even kill them. I don’t want to block or mute too much, and I don’t want to lock [my account].

Final Fantasy VII Rebirth is the second chapter of the Final Fantasy VII Remake project, and will be release for PS5 on February 29, 2024. The game was recently rated in South Korea, picking up a 15 certificate; as such, we should expect fewer mature-rated content than the recent Final Fantasy XVI, which was the series’ first game to receive an M rating.

Square Enix previously revealed that Final Fantasy VII Rebirth will take around 40-50 hours to complete for its main story, but will offer nearly 100 hours of content in total. Furthermore, the development team also confirmed that it will take place on ‘one seamless map,’ so don’t expect to be bogged down by long load times.
