Final Fantasy XV ‘cat cam’ showcases new train station area

Square Enix’s Hajime Tabata took to the stage at the Taipei Game Show over the weekend to demo a new location for the upcoming PlayStation 4 and Xbox One JRPG, Final Fantasy XV.

The new area in question is a train station, and while it hasn’t yet been fully realized, Tabata-san wasted no time in giving us a brief tour of the location, with protagonist Noctis having a stroll on the platform before sitting on a bench.

Interestingly, the action then switches to the ‘cat cam’ to show us some of the otherwise inaccessible areas.

Fans of FFXV may recall that Square Enix previously used a ‘dog cam’ to demo the game at Jump Festa. It appears the cat cam isn’t Square’s invention though; rather, it was created by XPEC Entertainment, a Taiwanese publisher brought in to help out on development of the game.

We’ve tasked a Taiwanese development firm to provide us with critical support,” said Tabata-san (via Gematsu).

Check out the footage of FFXV below. Finally, the company also confirmed that Final Fantasy Type-0 HD’s final trailer would debut in its next Active Time Report live stream, which takes place on February 5, 2015 at 8.00 pm Japanese time.
