Square Enix has revealed it is looking into the graphic-related issues that have plagued Final Fantasy XVI following the release of the latest PS5 system update last week.
Speaking on the Japanese Final Fantasy XVI X account, the publisher had the following to say (via Google translation):
Since the recent PlayStation ® 5 system update, there have been reports of crashes and graphics-related issues with the PlayStation ® 5 version of Final Fantasy XVI. We are currently checking the situation with SIE. We apologize for any inconvenience caused. Please wait for further updates.

Final Fantasy XVI was released in June 2023 for the PS5 and is finally launching on PC this week.
Back in April, Takeo Kujiraoka, the director behind Final Fantasy XVI’s DLC, revealed that the JRPG was successful in attracting a younger audience. The following month, it was reported that both Final Fantasy XVI and Final Fantasy VII sold below expectations.
