Sony Interactive Entertainment has announced that it will release a Final Fantasy XVI PS5 console bundle to coincide with the game’s launch on June 22, 2023. Preorders for the bundle will go live on PlayStation Direct on May 4.
It’s worth noting that the bundle does not include a physical copy of Square Enix’s highly anticipated RPG; rather, owners will receive a download code instead.
Final Fantasy XVI director Hiroshi Takai recently commented on the PlayStation Blog that he was blown away by the speed of PS5’s SSD, noting how the studio has leveraged the power of Sony’s new console to deliver a truly next-generation Final Fantasy experience.
Earlier this week, Square Enix revealed that Final Fantasy XVI will support two performance modes for PS5, which will focus on resolution and frame rate. Furthermore, according to producer Naoki Yoshida, gamers can expect to put around 70-80 hours into Final Fantasy XVI to achieve 100% completion.
Final Fantasy XVI is pencilled in for a June 22 release on PS5.
