Frictional Games, the developer of some of our favorite and fantastic horror games such as Amnesia: The Dark Descent, Penumbra and recently, SOMA, may port over their past titles to the PlayStation 4.
During an interview with Rely On Horror, Frictional’s Creative Director Thomas Grip hinted at the possibility of frightening more PlayStation gamers by bringing over the studio’s earlier works. “We’re looking into it,” Grip said. “Now that we have an engine running on PS4, we’re were also looking into how easy it is to port, but we haven’t really decided yet.”
While a very exciting prospect, these ports are not set in stone at this point. Grip elaborated on the challenges with such an undertaking.
“We have to look into it – what sort of problems might arise. So there’s always the chance of something that you thought that would be real easy turns out to be something that’s very time consuming. We’ll make an announcement when we know.”
