The UK-native gaming retailer Gamestation will shut its doors on its website next week. For those who have personal information on gamestation.com, that information will be in safe hands.
GAME, another UK-native retailer and sister brand to Gamestation under Game Retail Ltd, plans on taking on all of the customers coming from Gamestation. Disclosed on the briefly remaining Gamestation website is an official statement by the site in regards to the security of its customers:
"First and foremost, your account details are completely safe. Both GAME and gamestation were sister brands under Game Retail Ltd, so your details are still being held securely as before. You will simply access your account through a different website from 29th October."
It’s also important to note that all Elite XP points and achievements from Gamestation will transfer over to the Reward Card system used within GAME.
The remaining 122 Gamestation shops will be re-hashed into GAME stores as well. Though services and security will remain the same, is anyone affected by this change either negatively or positively? Feel free to use the space below to discuss your perspective.
