Gearbox Publishing has announced that it has rebranded as Arc Games following the sale of Gearbox to Take-Two.
The publisher, which wasn’t part of the sale to Take-Two, took to Twitter to confirm the rebranding with the following statement:
We’re very excited to announce that we are now Arc Games. We’re the same team of passionate gamers that brought you many beloved franchises including the Remnant series, Have a Nice Death, Star Trek Online, and Neverwinter. We can’t wait to bring you even more exciting titles like Gigantic: Rampage Edition, Hyper Light Breaker, and more soon-to-be-announced games for 2025 and beyond.

Due to not being involved in the sale to Take-Two however, Gearbox Publishing incurred a number of layoffs, with staff members taking to social media to confirm that they had been laid off. The exact number is not known, however.
In related news, 2K announced at the end of last month that a new Borderlands game is in development.
