Developer miHoYo has announced that Genshin Impact update 1.6 will be rolling out to players on June 9, bringing with it the all-new Midsummer Island adventure and more.
Once you’ve finished the main storyline in Liyue, you’ll be able to pick up the new Archon Quest with Kazuha, as well as spend a a limited amount of time in an uncharted sea area in Teyvat during the summer festivities.
The main highlight of Genshin Impact update 1.6 is the season event Midsummer Island Adventure. This kicks off after Klee receives a mysterious letter from a Dodo-King, who is threatening to have Dodoco taken away from her. Wth Klee and Dodoco needing help, the Traveler sets sail on Waverider to explore a secluded archipelago in a remote sea location.
The event is split into four stages, with each one packing its own unique gameplay. The first stage has you sailing on the Waverider while destroying enemy floating towers and encampments, while the second stage has you challenged to a race using a mix of flying and sailing.

Meanwhile, the third stage has you going up against Maguu Kenki to put your combat skills to the test, and the fourth and final stage tasks yo with clearing out monster encampments using three kinds of Harpastum Bombs.
Elsewhere, there’s also a bunch of new costumes to help yo get in the summertime spirit, with new outfits for Jean and Barbara in the shape of the Sea Breeze Dandelion and Summertime Sparkle, respectively.
