A series of new job listings posted by Sucker Punch Productions have indicated the studio is staffing up for Ghost of Tsushima 2, which wouldn’t be surprising considering the success of the original game.
The company’s website reveals it’s on the lookout for a Senior Combat Designer and Technical Combat Designer. While that alone may not seem significant — it could be for something else unrelated to Ghost of Tsushima, after all — both positions call for candidates who have specifically played the PS4 & PS5 samurai epic.
“Prototype, polish, and balance enemies, as well as player abilities,” it reads, while another listing adds, Prototype, polish, and balance player abilities, combat actions and progression items.”
Ghost of Tsushima was released for the PS4 in July 2020, and was ported to the PS5 the following year in the shape of Ghost of Tsushima: Director’s Cut, complete with visual and performance enhancements, plus DualSense support.
Sony has not announced a sequel to the game yet, but as one of the company’s most successful new IPs, we can’t imagine they’d want the franchise to rest for long.
