Ghostbusters: The Video Game Remastered Release Date Announced

The release date for Ghostbusters: The Video Game Remastered has been announced. The game will hit the PS4 on October 4, 2019.

This news comes from IGN, who confirmed the date earlier today. Along with the release date, IGN also has a brief look at gameplay, specifically, the Stay Puft Boss Fight. You can checkout that gameplay below:

Ghostbusters: The Video Game Remastered was announced back in May after a few leaks suggesting that the game was seeing a second life. It is very much a cult-classic that people adored. However, given a second life on PS4, the game may be able to capture mainstream attention. In our original review, we gave the game a 7.5 and found it an experience that captured the spirit of the franchise, but wasn’t anything to ride home about. Maybe the visual enhancement on PS4 could change that?

Ghostbusters: The Video Game Remastered takes the original co-op spookfest and spruces it up with a number of improvements, including high-resolution visuals as you’d probably expect. Aside from that, it looks a lot like what you remember back in 2009; the film cast is all here, with Bill Murray, Dan Aykroyd, Harold Ramis, and Ernie Hudson lending their voices and likeness to the game.

Aside from the cast, the game also includes the soundtrack from the first Ghostbusters film as well as appearances from key characters, locations, and props featured in the movies. Ghostbusters: The Video Game takes place two years after the events of Ghostbusters II, and sees the titular organisation training the player’s character while tackling paranormal activity in New York City.

Ghostbusters: The Video Game Remastered is set to arrive on October 4, 2019, for PS4.

Will you be picking the game up? What are your thoughts on this boss fight? Did you play the original game back in 2009?
