Bear McCreary, the composer on the God of War franchise, has revealed during an interview with IGN that he’s open to returning to the PlayStation-exclusive franchise, noting he’s “very proud” of the work he’s done on the series.
I still feel that I am very proud of the work that I’ve done (with God of War). And if there were an opportunity to expand upon it, I would be open to that.
The great thing about working on these God of War games (is) they are so expansive. I don’t think I have written anything musically in the two games and DLC that hasn’t been discovered. If anything, I think the more you dig into it, what I hope is evident is how much the team and I (were) always working to just make it better. At the end of every one of these massive games, after I’ve played through it and all I want to do is sleep, I’m like, ‘Here’s what we should do next time.’
McCreary previously commented during an interview with VGC that he felt his time on the God of War franchise was “complete,” although it seems he’s still open to returning in some capacity.
As previously reported, the God of War series is being adapted into a TV show for Amazon Prime, and is set to begin filming in March in Vancouver, Canada. Ronald D.Moore is named as the showrunner, while writers include Matthew Graham, Stephanie Shannon, and Joe Menosky.
