The Hollywood Reporter claims that the upcoming movie adaptation of God of War is to be revised by Saw screenwriters Patrick Melton and Marcus Dunstan.
The duo will rewrite an earlier draft of the script penned by David Self, who will be stepping into the role of executive producer.
God of War will be distributed by Universal Pictures, and will be produced by Charles Roven (The Dark Knight Rises) and Alex Gartner via Atlas Entertainment.
God of War remains one of Sony Computer Entertainment’s most successful videogame franchises to date, having sold over 20 million units worldwide since its inception in 2005. The latest entry in the series, God of War: Ascension, is scheduled to ship exclusively for PlayStation 3 in March 2013.
