We’ve posted a new video developer diary for God of War III showing off the creation of the Chimera. Part lion, part goat, part snake; the Chimera sounds like an ugly proposition, but an enemy Kratos should be able to handle. Andy Park, concept artist, talks about creating this beast back in 2005 for God of War II. After several prototypes, the final approved monster has all three animals layered, with the idea that they are all competing for dominance.
It’s interesting to hear how it was developed from original concept art into 3D. You’ll also see how it will look during combat and how the beast has a pretty strong, and aggressive personality.
You’ll get to see the Chimera in action when the game is released next month, exclusively for the PlayStation 3.
