According to a report on GamesIndsutry.biz citing GfK chart data, God of War Ragnarok has already managed to smash records by giving the franchise its biggest launch in the UK ever. Furthermore, its day one sales have surpassed the first-week sales of any other entry in the God of War franchise.
While we won’t find out until Monday how it has done in the physical charts, the game is comfortably on track to become the God of War franchise’s fourth entry to top the UK charts. The other three chart toppers are God of War (2018), God of War 3 and God of War II.

According to Dorian Bloch from GfK, God of War Ragnarok’s hardware bundle accounted for 55% of PS5 sales during this week. Furthermore, the game is poised to take the UK boxed top spot.
God of War Ragnarok will debut at No.1 and is the first cross-gen title in the series,” Bloch says. “Day 1 physical sales were already greater than any other full-week launch sales for other titles in this franchise.

Developer Sony Santa Monica Studio is planning on release in a photo mode for the game at some, although a modder has already unlocked an unfinished version of it. There’s also been reports that Collector’s Edition owners are missing their copy of the game.
