God Of War Ragnarok PC Mod Removes PSN Requirement

God of War Ragnarok for the PC has been modded to remove the requirement to link a PSN account in order to play the game, something which a lot of fans were more than a little frustrated with considering it’s a single-player game.

The mod comes courtesy of Nexusmods user iArtorias, and allows you to play God of War Ragnarok without the need for a PSN account. It’s pretty popular by all accounts too, having been downloaded thousands of times already.

Sony sparked major backlash earlier this year when it introduced PSN account as mandatory in order to play Helldivers 2. As a result, the game was delisted in 177 countries due to PSN not being available in those regions, and the game was reviewed bombed on Steam.

Due to the criticism, the format holder announced it had walked back on its decision, stating at the time it was “still learning what is best for PC players.”

God of War Ragnarok was released for the PC last week, and amassed nearly 23,000 concurrent users on Steam. While that’s a solid enough figure, it is, however, a significant drop from Sony’s other first-party offerings for PC, notably the original God of War.
