YouTuber and Final Fantasy XIV: A Realm Reborn player Lycona Dacheechee has made a super-cut of some fantastic locations in Square Enix’s MMORPG, showcasing how beautiful the four-year-old game can be.
Granted, in that four years, what started as a disastrous MMO was taken offline and rebooted completely to create A Realm Reborn, the game you can now play on PlayStation 4 and PS3. Since the PS4 version is comparable to the PC version on max settings, you can get a visual experience similar to the one below on console.
Maybe it’s only so amazing because FFXIV’s Eorzea already has its hooks in me. But I’d wager this video alone could sell people on what we called a role-playing triumph.
Big things are around the corner, too. Heavensward, the game’s first expansion, will add new lands and Jobs, flying mounts, a new race, and dungeons come Spring 2015. Before that, Patch 2.5, "Before the Fall," will bring a new 24-player raid and the Gold Saucer, a space for mini-games like Chocobo racing inspired by Final Fantasy VII.
