North American retailer Newegg has listed Gran Turismo 6 for release on PlayStation 3.
The listing, spotted by IGN, mentions a November 28 release for the next edition in Polyphony Digital’s racing franchise, priced at $59.99.
Unless you’ve been out of the loop on all things Gran Turismo, news of a sixth instalment shouldn’t really come as much of a surprise – the game has been in development since late 2010, after all.
The platform of choice may seem a tad odd given the proximity of PS4’s impending holiday launch, but then again, PS3 has the advantage of a 70 million + installed base to take advantage of.
Finally, Sony’s Michael Denny indicated not too long ago that the racer would be released for Sony’s current-generation console.
If this is indeed the case, and GT6 turns up this November, then it will arrive just three years after its predecessor. While that might seem like a lengthy period in which to deliver a sequel, one must remember that GT5 had a notoriously lengthy development cycle plagued by numerous delays.
