The PlayStation Network release of two gems from the vast treasure trove of Rockstar Games has been long-rumored, but now, one is confirmed. Grand Theft Auto III will arrive on the PSN as a Playstation 2 Classic on Tuesday, July 31. This beauty is expected to be a direct port of its PS2 counterpart with no modifications or supported Trophies and sold at $9.99.
The folks over at the Official Playstation Blogcast confirmed the news earlier this evening, and given the recent ESRB rating of its sequel Grand Theft Auto: Vice City, you can expect another GTA classic to show up on the PSN soon. For now, Grand Theft Auto III will only see a digital release in North America. Information has yet to be given as to its release in other territories.
