According to a post on the Rockstar Newswire, the acclaimed developer today announced that the long-awaited heist update for its hugely popular Grand Theft Auto V online feature is officially delayed until futher notice.
The update was scheduled to roll out sometime in the spring, though surely that launch window has passed. Online heists have been leading the hype train among other updates for quite some time now, so Rockstar finally addressed its dedicated community that’s been running low on patience.
"We know many fans have been eagerly awaiting the release of the Online Heists that we had planned to release for you this spring, and they are taking more time to create than originally anticipated. We are very sorry for the delay, and are working hard to bring them to you as soon as we can. Please know that we are focused as always on making the best possible content for you to play and we are thankful to all of you for your patience, understanding and support,” the developer wrote.
Unfortunately, the post does not detail a designated release window. Even with the disappointing news, Rockstar has endeavored to keep GTA Online fresh with scattered updates, including the recent "I’m Not a Hipster" update, which supplies new content and customization options for the already expansive online universe.
Hopefully the community won’t have to wait until the release of Grand Theft Auto V on PlayStation 4 later this fall.
