GTA III delayed for PSN

UPDATE: Shacknews reports: "According to PlayStation community manager Morgan Haro, music licensing issues are to blame for the game’s sudden delay. "There were some last minute issues with getting clearance for a certain audio track in the game," he said. "But the teams at Rockstar are on it to review how to best get this title on PSN."

The much beloved Grand Theft Auto III of Rockstar fame, originally planned to hit the Playstation Network today, has been delayed.

GTA III was to be released as a Playstation 2 Classic on the Playstation Store as a part of the store’s weekly update, but the Playstation Blog states otherwise.

According to the top post on the PS Blog, GTA III was delayed due to an "unforeseen complication." The full post is as follows:

“Note: Due to an unforeseen complications, the Grand Theft Auto III PS2 Classic is not publishing with today’s Store post. We will update you when a new release date has been identified. We apologize for the inconvenience.”

The cause of the delay is still unknown. An update will be given once we learn more.
