Steven Ogg, the actor behind Trevor in Grand Theft Auto V, has made it clear during an interview with YouTuber Harrison Shipp that he’s not a gamer, and as such has no palpable interest in the upcoming Grand Theft Auto VI. In fact, he hasn’t even played GTA V, which came out over a decade ago.
I feel nothing inside. I’m not a gamer. I’ve never played video games. So I feel absolutely nothing, Someone said yesterday at one point ‘You should play GTA 5.’ I said ‘Why?’ They said ‘Because it’s so great!’ And I said ‘Well, one day you should read Dostoevsky’s Crime and Punishment,’ and he went completely blank.

Interestingly, Shawn Fonteno, the actor behind Franklin in GTA V and one of the three playable characters in the game alongside Michael and Trevor, shows up with an impromptu “shut the fuck up,” presumably in response to what Ogg was talking about (although it should be started this isn’t entirely clear in the video). He also adds “No, fuck that book” in response to Ogg asking Shipp “Are you excited about that book coming out?”
Ogg has made no secret about his disdain for video games in the past, and has gained a reputation for being a bit of a grump when discussing his role in GTA V. Despite this, he has denied that he hates the character and is obviously proud of the work he did on the project.
He has, however, been quite forthcoming about the game’s cancelled story DLC, revealing last year that one of the ideas Rockstar had was an expansion featuring Trevor working undercover. He reveals that some of the content was shot, describing it as ‘James Bond Trevor.’
