As is near-customary these days, it looks as if we have the release date for Telltale’s upcoming Guardians of the Galaxy, courtesy of a listing on Sony’s PlayStation Store.

The listing for the Season Pass of the game, seen below, specifies a release date of April 18, which, if true, will presumably be the first episode of developer Telltale’s new episodic journey that will then run in conjunction with the launch of Marvel’s Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 in cinemas in late April.

Early PlayStation Plus adopters can get an additional 20 percent off, too.

Guardians of the Galaxy: The Telltale Series is based on the Marvel comics, rather than  the upcoming sequel – though the timing would make sense from an brand exposure point of view – and revolves around the Guardians attempting to seek out an ancient artefact that they each individually want, whilst making sure that it stays out of the hands of a malevolent entity.

Of course, the release date news isn’t completely confirmed – as the official placeholder has always been spring – but April 18 is a very specific day so we’d hazard to guess that we’ll get official confirmation soon enough.
