Activision has announced that upcoming classic rock romp Guitar Hero: Van Halen will be released in the U.S. on December 22, 2009.
The game forms part of an onslaught of music simulation titles from the publishing giant due before the end of the year, which includes the likes of Guitar Hero 5, Band Hero and DJ Hero. In addition to featuring songs from the legendary rock group, Guitar Hero: Van Halen also includes appearances from some 19 other groups, making for a total of 47 tracks in total.
It’s worth noting that the Van Halen content has been plucked straight the group’s albums released during the years 1978-1984, so don’t expect to be strutting your stuff to the likes of ‘Why Can’t This Be Love’ or ‘Fire in the Hole’ – Sammy Hager and Gary Cherone’s time with the band has been completely omitted in favour of the flamboyant David Lee Roth era.
