Hades 2 Is Confirmed To Launch As A Timed Console Exclusive For Switch 2

Supergiant Game has confirmed that Hades 2 will come to the Nintendo Switch 2 first, but will eventually arrive on other platforms too.

News comes from the Creator’s Voice: The God-Like Roguelike Returns,’ which is the first in a series of weekly videos from Nintendo. It features commentary from Amir Rao, Greg Kasavin, and Darren Korb of Supergiant Games discussing bringing Hades 2 to the new hybrid console, which launches on June 5, 2025.

Hades 2 was released for PC early access in May 2024 and is the sequel to the original Hades. The sequel takes place at an undetermined time after its predecessor, and sees Princess of the Underground, Melinoe, as she embarks on a quest to defeat titan of time, Chronos. Melinoe is the sister to the protagonist of the original game, Zagreus. Hades 2 also introduces two different paths — one from Erebus to Tartarus, and other from Ephyra to Mount Olympus — both featuring their own distinct biomes.

Hades 2 is scheduled to release first on Nintendo Switch 2 and will arrive on other formats at a later date. This isn’t the only game confirmed to launch first for Nintendo’s new hybrid system, as Yakuza 0: Director’s Cut is also hitting other formats after it launches first on Switch 2.
