Halo: Campaign Evolved Physical Release Comes With A Disc So Players Have A ‘Tangible Item’ For Their Collection

Halo Studios has announced that the physical version of Halo: Campaign Evolved ships with an actual game disc — no doubt a response to the fact Grand Theft Auto VI only comes with a code in a box.

Speaking in a Q&A section on the Halo Waypoint website, John Junysezek, Senior Community for Halo Studios, highlighted that players will have a “tangible item” to add to your collection if you decide to grab the physical copy of the shooter. This also applies to the Xbox Series X/S version of Halo: Campaign Evolved.

Yes! Buying the Xbox or PlayStation version of Halo: Campaign Evolved at your local retailer will result in getting the physical game case and disc so that you have tangible items to add to your collection.

Halo: Campaign Evolved is slated for release on July 28, 2026 for PS5, PC, and Xbox Series X/S. The game is a full remake of the single-player campaign of 2001’s Halo: Combat Evolved, featuring completely revamped visuals and various quality-of-life improvements to modernised the iconic shooter for current hardware. In addition, it also includes new content in the form of Operation: METEORITE, which is set a year before the events of Halo and follows Master Chief and Sgt. Johnson taking part in a UNSC operation on a Covenant research vessel.

Halo Studios isn’t reportedly stopping with the first game as far as remakes are concerned, however. According to RebsGaming back in May, the studio is also working on new versions of Halo 2 and Halo 3, although there’s no word if these will include multiplayer or not.
