Halo 2 Remake Halo 3 Remake Halo Remakes Halo Studios News PS5

Halo Studios Is Reportedly Looking To Remake The Entire Original Halo Trilogy

Halo Studios is reportedly looking to remake the original Halo Trilogy, following its completion of the upcoming Halo: Campaign Evolved in 2026.

YouTuber RebsGaming noted that Halo Leaks had previously stated that Halo 2 and Halo 3’s campaigns are set to be overhauled for modern platforms, and mentioned Dan Gniady joining Halo Studios as lead gam designer on a new project, which is Halo Campaign Evolved. However, on his LinkedIn profile, Gniady apparently teased more remakes are to come, stating “Doing a game direction on a Halo Experience, Giving the Covenant back their bomb.”

He then mentions leaker TechnicalHalo on X, who stated in 2024 that Halo Studios resell the franchise as opposed to porting the Master Chief Collection to PlayStation for “a higher potential revenue.” As such, the plan is to remake Halo 1 — 3.

RebsGaming also spoke to a former Halo Studios developer, who confirmed that the original trilogy is indeed being remade at the developer. However, the source was unable to go into detail due to an NDA. Another source also confirmed that the remakes are in the pipeline, and explained why Halo Studios are going down this route rather than creating new experiences

According to them, Microsoft and Halo Studios are looking to ensure ‘Halo’s new era doesn’t fail,’ and are therefore playing it safe and avoiding taking any risks. By avoiding making a new Halo game, they are playing it safe remaking the original trilogy as “they can’t afford to fail again.”

Microsoft has not announced any plans to remake Halo 2 and Halo 3 yet, so take this with a pinch of salt for the time being.
