Minecraft is well known for its survival aspect, but the longer you play, the easier it gets—and the more challenging it becomes to keep yourself entertained. Here are my top picks for the hardest Minecraft Bedrock survival maps that will force you out of your comfort zone.
1. One Block Challenge
The One Block map is probably the hardest challenge players have ever come up with. There are no other blocks around aside from the single block you stand on. Break it, and another block appears in its place. Keep going, and new blocks will continue to spawn. The tricky part is managing your very limited resources so you don’t lose everything. You will need to tackle the most urgent survival tasks immediately: hunger, shelter, and resource generation. Remember all the tips and tricks you’ve read about making Cobblestone and Obsidian generators, because you will need them. Beyond basic survival, all your effort goes into preparing for Minecraft’s ultimate enemy: The Ender Dragon.
2. Skyblock
Skyblock is my second favorite survival map style, and it’s a classic. Much like One Block, your resources are severely limited. However, this time you must work strictly with what’s available on a tiny floating island. In some variations of Skyblock, you’ll see other distant islands floating nearby. In those versions, your goal is to bridge across to reach those extra islands and grab additional resources. Classic Skyblock remains one of the hardest maps I’ve ever played in Minecraft Bedrock.
3. Raft Survival
The Raft survival map is inspired by the video game of the same name. The gimmick here is that you’re stranded in the middle of a vast ocean with nothing except a fishing rod.Naturally, food isn’t an issue—there are plenty of fish in the sea. But you still have to figure out how to get building materials and find a place to sleep. Luckily, your starting fishing rod comes enchanted with higher durability and increased drop rates, allowing you to catch Dirt, Wood, and even the occasional Diamond. I will say, though: if you don’t enjoy Minecraft fishing, it can get a bit tedious after a while!
Summary
Survival in custom Bedrock maps can be far more challenging than just dealing with standard Creepers and vanilla mechanics. Finishing any of these maps is a true crowning achievement for any Minecraft player.
