Update 03/10/2018 @ 09:56 – A Tweet posted by the BBC’s Lizo Mzimba shortly after footage of what appeared to be a Harry Potter RPG leaked yesterday morning has confirmed it is indeed of an as yet unannounced Harry Potter project, potentially titled Harry Potter Magic Awakened. Although other names, such as Magic Forever, are still on the table.
Other Harry Potter games are also in the pipeline, according to Mzimba. While sources close to Eurogamer have revealed Batman Arkham developer RockSteady isn’t behind the game. Perhaps adding further credence to rumours that this mysterious Harry Potter RPG is the work of Avalanche Software.

Gameplay footage of what looks like a Harry Potter RPG has been leaked on Reddit by user VapeThisBro.
The footage, which we’ve embedded below, isn’t of the highest quality. Having been captured off-screen. However, from where we’re standing, it certainly looks genuine.

More importantly, it lends credence to the highly exciting features list posted alongside the footage. Which, assuming the information is accurate, gives players the opportunity to:
- Journey to Hogwarts to become one of 8 different Wizard types
- Experience Hogwarts, make new friends, uncover new secrets, and change the fate of the Wizarding world
- Experience a new magic system that creates countless possibilities to master magic
- Freely explore the Wizarding World for the first time
- Choose their own house and friends at Hogwarts, and decide to pursue a path of good or evil
- Create their own witch or wizard, and experience an all-new story separate from the books or films
Harry Potter RPG Story Synopsis
Additionally, VapeThisBro posted something that reads very much like a story synopsis. And an extremely promising one at that.
Set in the 19th Century (1800’s) Wizarding World, this 3rd person open-world action RPG game centres around your character with unique abilities who has earned a late acceptance to Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. You are a newly arrived 5th year student to Hogwarts that demonstrates a latent gift for magic with a unique ability to track and identify remnants of a pottant ancient power.
Upon arrival, strange events begin to materialize In the Forbidden Forrest and trouble begins o brew within the castle walls. Together with Professor Elezar Fig, you embark on a journey through both familiar and never before seen locations to bring to light the truth behind these mysterious occurrences.

Rumours and recent job postings suggest the game, if genuine, is the work of publisher Warner Bros. and developer Avalanche Software. Although official confirmation has yet to be provided by either party.
It goes without saying, but we’ll keep our eyes peeled for any further developments in this intriguing story.
