Fairgame$, the upcoming heist shooter from Haven Studios, is reportedly going to receive an Extraction mode known as Cargo Heist, according to a new report on Insider Gaming.
While details on the game have remained thin on the ground since its 2023 reveal, Fairgame$ is apparently undergoing its latest playlets this weekend. And, while initially marketed as a “competitive heist experience,” Haven Studios’ title is essentially an extraction shooter with objectives, similar to Marathon with contracts.. A description of the extraction mode can be seen below:
Break In – Find a vault code to gain access to the safe. Collect cash, upgrade your skillset, and make your play.
Drill – The vault is breached. Be the team to grab the cargo, or set up your strategy to intercept it.
Extract – The Cargo must be brought to the Extraction Site. Use the Extraction device to call your ride home. If your team fails to extract cargo, use another exit to Getaway.
The report on Insider Gaming notes that a persistent issue throughout Fairgame$’ development is that it is simply “not fun,” according to various playtesters who have experienced early builds. Back in late 2024, Christopher Dring of GI.biz stated in a podcast appearance that Sony was feeling confident about Fairgame$ despite the then-recent failure of Concord.
In May last year, Jade Raymond was revealed to have departed Haven Studios, some three years after the company was acquired by PlayStation Studios.
