HBO has announced the latest round of castings for The Last of Us Season 3, with Michelle Mao set to portray Yara and Kyriana Kratter playing Lev.
According to a report on Deadline, HBO held an “inclusive casting for Lev with young actors of different backgrounds,” resulting in Kratter landing the part. This latest batch of castings follows recent news that Patrick Wilson will be appearing in the series’ third season as Abby’s father, with Clea DuVall and Jorge Lendeborg Jr. also joining the series.
Back in July last year, Naughty Dog’s Neil Druckmann announced that he was stepping way from The Last of Us HBO to focus on the company’s upcoming game projects. Here’s what he said at the time:
I’ve made the difficult decision to step away from my creative involvement in The Last of Us on HBO With work completed on Season 2, and before any meaningful work starts on Season 3, now is the right time for me to transition my complete focus to Naughty Dog and its future projects, including writing and directing our exciting next game, Intergalactic: The Heretic Prophet, along with my responsibilities as Studio Head and Head of Creative.
Production on The Last of Us Season 3 is expected to kick off this year, according to Isabela Merced, the actress who plays Dina. The third season will be shifting focus from Ellie’s journey to Abby, much like the events of The Last of Us: Part II, which had players jumping between both characters.
