Deadline has reported that Clea DuVall and Jorge Lendeborg Jr. have been casting in The Last of Us Season 3, which as previously reported may very well end up being the final series.
First up, DuVall is set to take on the role of a member of the Seraphites, one of the two major factions seen in The Last of Us Part II that have been involved in a bloody and brutal war with the WLF. Speaking of which, the Lendeborg Jr. will be taking over the role of WLF member Manny, who was previously played by Danny Ramirez, who isn’t returning due to scheduling conflicts.
As previously confirmed, The Last of Us Season 3 will be focussing on the character of Abby (Kaitlyn Dever), much like how The Last of Us Part II had players switching to controlling Abby after following Ellie’s journey. Neil Druckmann from Naughty Dog however won’t be involved this time around, having said last year that he will be stepping away from the series to focus on his upcoming game projects.
The Last of Us HBO Season 1 & 2 focussed on the journey of Ellie and Joel (Pedro Pascal), covering the events of the original The Last of Us and the first half of the sequel. Showrunner Craig Mazin had previously stated that he felt it would be necessary to get a fourth season green lit in order to tell the complete story of The Last of Us Part II.
