Heavy Rain PS4 release date announced, U.S. won’t get physical copy

Sony has announced that Heavy Rain will be released digitally in North America for PlayStation 4 on March 1, 2016.

The Quantic Dream thriller will then hit Europe and the U.K. on March 2 and 4, respectively, alongside the Heavy Rain & Beyond: Two Souls Collection.

However, unlike PAL regions, North America will not receive the Heavy Rain & Beyond: Two Souls Collection. Beyond: Two Souls is currently available to purchase via the PlayStation Store, so be sure to read our review to see how it shapes up on PS4.

Heavy Rain was originally released on the PS4 back in early 2010. The game sees players taking on the role of multiple characters, including a Private Investigator, a father-of-two, an FBI Agent and more in an attempt to solve a string of murders perpetrated by the mysterious Origami Killer.

Your choices will have direct consequences as you progress through the game, and it’s possible for a number of the main characters to meet their maker if you aren’t careful. The PS4 remaster will include high-definition visuals and a variety of other cosmetic touches.

In a nice gesture to owners of Beyond: Two Souls on PS4, Sony has confirmed that Heavy Rain will only set you back £7.99. Read our review of Heavy Rain on PS3.

Developer Quantic Dream is currently working on its next original project, Detroit, which is partly based off the Kara PS3 tech demo from a few years back.
