Helldivers 2 is one of the biggest success stories of the year so far in regards to PS5 games, with the Arrowhead Game Studio-developed shooter ranking as the best-selling premium game of 2024 year-to-date, according to Circana’s Mat Piscatella.
Helldivers II remains the best-selling premium game of 2024 year-to-date after placing 2nd in March. Helldivers II currently ranks 7th in lifetime US dollar sales for Sony published titles after just two months in market.

Last month it was reported that Sony was in early talks to bring Helldivers 2 to Xbox formats, although nothing has ever been confirmed on the subject. Microsoft of course has made available a number of its Xbox titles for rival formats, including Grounded and Sea of Thieves, but it remains to be seen if Sony would do the same with Helldivers 2.
In related news for Helldivers 2, Arrowhead Game Studios has touched base on the possibility of having larger squads in the game, admitting it would ‘require a lot of work‘ to implement such a feature.
