Helldivers 2 is, at time of writing, releasing in less than a day on both PS5 and PC simultaneously, something that we’ve not yet seen from a PlayStation Studios published title.
Even though Helldivers 2 isn’t a first-party game, Arrowhead Studios feels like a part of the PlayStation Studios family of developers considering the long history Helldivers has on the platform.
Which is why fans of the series will be happy to see that Helldivers 2 is currently sitting at the top of Steam’s sales charts in North America for paid games.
In both the U.S and Canada, Helldivers 2 is the number one selling paid game, while globally it sits at the number 5 spot on Steam.
In terms of the PlayStation Store, a quick parous into the “PS5 Games” section and selecting them to be ordered by “Best Selling” will have Helldivers 2 sitting in the top 20, as the 15th game listed.
While it may not be the number one selling paid game globally, that it’s selling more than Palworld in North America still a huge indicator of just how excited people are for Helldivers 2 to arrive.
It also could potentially indicate that we’ll begin to see more PS5 and PC simultaneous releases from PlayStation, potentially it’ll happen with a first-party game one day, doubtful as that may seem. Money, as it always does, talks.
