Helldivers 2 Sits At A “Mixed” Rating On Steam Due To Launch Issues While Also Topping Steam’s Global Sales Charts For Paid Games

Helldivers 2

Helldivers 2 is here, the long-awaited sequel to Arrowhead Studio’s top-down shooter turned third-person has launched on PS5 and PC, though it hasn’t been the best launch for half of those players.

That would be the half playing on PC, who have the game currently sitting at a “Mixed” overall rating on Steam. Some players are having a great time, others however can’t even play at all.

Players are reporting their games crashing, issues with getting into a match in the first place, and a pointing to an “invasive anti-cheat” as one player described it, as the root cause of the issues.

Helldivers 2 uses nProtect GameGuard for its anti-cheat system, which isn’t uncommon for players, no matter how much they might dislike it.

However all these issues and a ‘Mixed’ rating hasn’t stopped Helldivers 2 from sitting at the top of Steam’s global sales charts for paid games.

Arrowhead Studios has also released a statement to players, saying that the team has already uploaded one patch to PC players, and will be working to get the same update to PS5 players after it confirms the first fix to be successful.

Despite plenty of issues on the PC side, players on PS5 seem to mostly be having a grand time, with little issues and lots of fun.
