Fresh gameplay footage for Sony’s decision-based horror game, Until Dawn, has been revealed.
The segment shown below was taken from a developer session at last week’s EGX in London.
The footage sees part of the slasher movie homage’s youthful cast of potential victims creeping about, trying their very best not to get picked off by a psychotic killer as they search for their friends. Unfortunately for them, they seemingly end up in a whole heap of fresh trouble by the end.
The gameplay on show evokes some classic survival horror elements (including some suitably cheesy dialogue delivery), but more importantly it details a quick-prompt choice system not unlike PlayStation exclusive, Heavy Rain.
This, according to the developers, Supermassive Games, means your playthrough could go in completely different narrative directions from somebody elses as characters’ condition and mortality depend on what you choose to do in various situations (all of which probably involve not wanting to die).
Until Dawn was revealed as a PS4 exclusive earlier this year at Gamescom, having been a rumoured PS3 Move title in a previous life back in August 2012. It’s currently scheduled to be release at some point in 2015.
