The creator behind the Metal Gear series has said an emotional farewell to his beloved stealth-action franchise in a new video message.
Hideo Kojima has been involved in the multi-million selling series since day one, from its humble beginnings as a top-down 8-bit actioner through to its present day incarnation as a state-of-the-art, action-adventure juggernaut on PlayStation 4 and Xbox One.
While in the past Kojima-san has said he’s finished with Metal Gear Solid only to subsequently return for another round of hiding in cardboard boxes, this time he’s done for good. Despite this, Konami has confirmed the franchise will live on without him.
As for Kojima-san himself, fear not; he’s already said he aims to continue creating games for the rest of his life.
