The official website for Wildlight Entertainment‘s Highguard is currently unavailable and has been down since yesterday, suggesting things aren’t going too smoothly behind the scenes.
“This site is currently unavailable,” read the error. Right now there’s no indication of when the site will come back online, although Highguard itself is still playable. Things haven’t been easy for the game as of late however, as despite launching to nearly 100,000 concurrent users, the player count has dwindled considerably, to the point where it’s barely able to crack 1,500 in the pats 24 hours.
In addition, Wildlight Entertainment itself has suffered from a number of layoffs, with the studio confirming that it has kept a “core group of developers to continue innovating on and supporting the game.”
Highguard takes the form of a PvP raid shooter where players are thrust into the role of Wardens; arcane gunslingers who battle for control of a mythical content. Alongside regular FPS mechanics, Highguard also utilises mounted combat, destructible environments, and fantasy-themed powers.
