Hit Anime GACHIAKUTA To Receive Game Adaptation From Com2uS Group For PS5

Gachiakuta is receiving an action-RPG video game adaptation from Com2uS Group. The game is set to be a survival action-RPG that captures the series’ gritty worldview and graffiti-inspired visuals.

The title seeks to reinterpret the anime’s setting and atmosphere, where users will enter monster-infested zones to complete a variety of missions and return to safe zones. The game sounds a lot like Bandai Namco’s God Eater franchise, which sees you taking on missions in a post-apocalyptic world, hunting down monsters, and completing missions.

The game looks to incorporate some co-op in the game up to three people with unique skills and abilities, as demonstrated in the trailer you can check out below:

Cachiakuta follows Rudo, a poor boy born and raised in the slums, who rebels against the world order and its oppression and discrimination. Kodansha USA Publishing has released the anime’s story description:

Rudo lives in the slums of a floating town, where the poor scrape by under the shadow of the rich who live a sumptuous life, simply casting their garbage off the side, into the abyss. Then one day, he’s falsely accused of murder, and his wrongful conviction leads to an unimaginable punishment—exile off the edge, with the rest of the trash. Down on the surface, the cast-off waste of humanity has bred vicious monsters, and if Rudo wants to have any hope of discovering the truth and seeking vengeance against those who cast him into Hell, he will have to master a new power and join a group known as the Cleaners who battle the hulking trash beasts of the Pit!

The anime is highly praised and ranked number 1 in average viewship on Crunchyroll in the United States. The anime just completed its first season, with a brand-new second season recently announced.
