According to GamesIndustry’s Christopher Dring on Twitter, Hogwarts Legacy‘s UK sales are literally on the brink of surpassing Elden Ring’s lifetime sales in the country.
Posting on Twitter, Dring said that UK digital and physical game sales in the UK are up 11% over February 2022, which is down to Hogwarts Legacy. Furthermore, its launch week sales were a massive 100% bigger than Elden Ring, which itself was obviously a huge success.
As previously reported, sales of the PS5 were up 316% over last February thanks to the console no longer suffering from major stock shortages.
Hogwarts Legacy was released on PS5, PC and Xbox Series X/S on February 10, 2023. While the PS4 and Xbox One versions were originally pencilled in for April, Warner Bros. Games announced yesterday that they have now been delayed into May.
Set around 100 years before the events of Harry Potter, Hogwarts Legacy sees players controlling a fifth year student at the school as they uncover a sinister plot by goblins and dark wizards to plunge the Wizarding World into choas.
