Publisher Deep Silver has released another video for UK-based Dambuster Studios’ (made up of former Crytek UK and Free Radical employees) upcoming shooter Homefront: The Revolution with the release date moving ever closer.
This new featurette-style trailer, part of the Homefront 101 video series, details the game’s various zones, and shows what effect your actions have on the oppressed citizens of Philadelphia as you look to fight back against the superior enemy forces.
Deep Silver also announced the Merits system, which gives bonuses for the co-op, known as Resistance Mode with a press release stating,
Anyone can simply go to Homefront-Game.com and begin earning Merits by completing missions on the site to dive deeper into the lore of the universe. Each Merit earned unlocks a corresponding piece of Combat Gear from the Red Rebel set, which can be used to customize your co-op character in Resistance Mode.
Once merits are achieved, players will see the associated in-game Combat Gear unlock by linking their Homefront profile to their Xbox LIVE, PSN or Steam account. Seven merits are currently available at the launch of this program, with more to come between now and when Homefront: The Revolution launches on May 17 in North America.
So far, previews for Homefront: The Revolution have been mixed, but a recent look at the game has seen more positive praise. It remains to be seen just how it turns out.
