The Horizon Franchise Will Continue For ‘A Very Long While,’ Says Guerrilla Games

The Horizon franchise will be sticking around for quite a while yet, Guerrilla Games‘ studio director Jan-Bart van Been during a keynote at Develop: Brighton.

According to van Beek Guerrilla has around 16 plans “clicking on” for Horizon, which includes future entires in the franchise. “We’re going to be continuing it for a very long while,” he added.

Elsewhere, he also confirmed what we’ve all suspected for a while now, that there’s a Horizon multiplayer game in the pipeline: “As people probably already know, we’re also going to be working on a multiplayer game.”

He went on to describe production of the multiplayer title as “another massive shift for the studio, almost on the same level as doing the first Horizon.”

Earlier this year Guerrilla Games launched Horizon: Call of the Mountain for PSVR 2, as well as releasing Horizon: Forbidden West’s expansion, The Burning Shores. Beyond that, the departure of Angie Smets earlier this year prompted a press release from the company, which seemingly confirmed development of a third Horizon game.
